Welcome to the Long Beach Public Library AV Blog. My name is Michael and I am the audio-visual librarian. Blogging is new to me, but I think it can be an exciting and fun way to open a dialogue with library users about the media collection. I hope to be able to learn more about what the community wants and needs in their library. The media collection is one of the most popular at LBPL. Your input and participation will help make it even more so.

I hope to be able to announce "new arrivals" in a timely fashion and perhaps offer an opinion or two. I will also try to post reviews of new releases (CD and video), live performances, and links to interesting media related sites.

As we all learn more about "blogging" our roles can expand. For now, I welcome you to this experimental site and urge you to contribute your thoughts and ideas generously. Also, please observe proper netiquette.
